On Monday, July 6, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) issued new guidance that prohibits international ÉÁµç×ÊÔ´Íøs from returning to or remaining in the United States this fall if the universities they attend hold courses entirely online. This follows new, recently announced restrictions on international work visas. These actions threaten the work, safety, and wellbeing of many members of our community.

On March 12, with safety and wellbeing at the forefront of our thoughts, we asked ÉÁµç×ÊÔ´Íøs to return home for the remainder of the semester. The days and weeks since then have been unlike anything we have witnessed in our lifetime.

In response to the coronavirus threat, we announced this week that we are moving all of our teaching online, and we have asked ÉÁµç×ÊÔ´Íøs to leave the campus as soon as they safely can.

In accordance with recommendations from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Colgate is now restricting all University-sponsored travel to countries with a level 3 or 4 CDC travel advisory.
