Native American and Indigenous Student Alliance (NAISA)

NAISA seeks to serve the Native American and Indigenous population at Colgate by advocating for Native and Indigenous ÉÁµç×ÊÔ´Íøs and providing them with a safe space to bond as a community. NAISA intends to create a space to celebrate indigenous communities from the Americas, and those around the globe. NAISA also intends to cultivate this community of indigenous ÉÁµç×ÊÔ´Íøs to be in community and support with the Oneida Nation whose land Colgate resides on. NAISA will hold meetings educating the population of Colgate’s campus about important issues affecting Native Americans and Indigenous communities, as well as the intersectionality of these issues. NAISA programming will also include discussions, games, gatherings, potlucks, and much more focusing on building a space that supports our Indigenous and Native American community.  

ALANA Cultural Center

The African, Latin American, Asian, and Native American (ALANA) Cultural Center serves Colgate as a learning center and focal point for ÉÁµç×ÊÔ´Íøs and organizations belonging to those cultures or who wish to learn about them.

Fellowships and Experiences

Summer Research Fellowships

Undergraduate ÉÁµç×ÊÔ´Íø research is a prominent component of many Colgate ÉÁµç×ÊÔ´Íøs' educations. Fellowships are available during the summer months through the auspices of the divisions of humanities, social sciences, and university studies. As a Native American and Indigenous Studies ÉÁµç×ÊÔ´Íø, you can apply for fellowships in one or more of these divisions, depending on the research topic. Each fellowship normally supports eight to ten weeks of research on campus. Research topics may be generated by faculty members or they may be based on ÉÁµç×ÊÔ´Íøs' individual interests (though faculty sponsorship is required). Learn more about summer research fellowships.
