Dancefest, one of the most if not the most popular event on campus, will be webcast live for the first time this Saturday. Alumni, parents, and friends can watch the ������Դ�� performances starting at 6 p.m. by going to the Colgate Livestream channel: www.livestream.com/colgateuniversity.

Janel Benson, assistant professor of sociology, has joined the debate about family values on The New York Times. Benson, who specializes in sociology of the family, is one of the contributors to the Times‘ Room for Debate section of its website.

Jessica Blank ’11, six months on the job at NBC Nightly News, already has filmed and edited a news segment that now is on the NBC website. And, to top it off, the segment features a fellow alumnus.

With its thrilling last-second win over Bucknell, the Colgate men’s lacrosse team became the Patriot League regular season champs and earned the right to host the league tournament this coming weekend.

The Colgate Entertainment Group hosted its inaugural panel discussion in the new series From Hamilton to Hollywood at the Creative Artists Agency in Los Angeles last month. Alumni and parents in the entertainment industry took part in a great panel discussion and networking event.

The late Manning Marable, founding director of the Africana and Latin American Studies Program at Colgate, was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for history today, honored for a Malcolm X book he worked on for years but did not live to see published.
