This year, Colgate’s annual MLK Celebration will run from Jan. 23 through Jan. 29, 2023. The opening ceremony, featuring ������Դ�� speaker Kwabena Owusu Ansah ’24 and performances by the Colgate Resolutions and Safety Forth, will be held at 4:30 p.m., Monday, Jan. 23, in Memorial Chapel and will stream live.

Humans should be eating significantly less meat, according to a faculty panel discussion on Oct. 19 at the Edge Café.

A newly funded natural laboratory, designed to understand the interaction between the climate, hydrology, and the Colgate community, is now collecting data, thanks to the recent installation of specialized monitoring stations on campus and in a local creek. 

Colgate will host a special panel with members of the Syrian Emergency Task Force (SETF), Wednesday, October 26, titled Exposing War Crimes in Syria and the Connection to the Ukraine Crisis. 

From Friday, Sept. 23, to Saturday, Sept. 24, Colgate hosted campus community members and alumni for a celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Harlem Renaissance Center.

������Դ�� welcomed the Class of 2026 to campus on Sunday, Aug. 21. With 817 members, this is the most selective and academically accomplished class in the history of the institution — formed from the largest applicant pool ever seen by the University.

Today marks the 20th anniversary of the ������Դ�� Bookstore opening its doors in downtown Hamilton following a lengthy renovation that transformed a dilapidated building into the village’s retail anchor. 

������Դ�� welcomed alumni for two reunion weekends this month, reviving the tradition last enjoyed on campus during the Bicentennial Reunion of 2019.

A Colgate group with an interest in cycling and grueling adventure took on the Erie Canalway Trail on April 23. The 365-mile course from Albany to Buffalo is a big draw for bicyclists of all abilities, although only the most ambitious will attempt the entire trail in one shot.
