One day Vonzelle Johnson ’07 woke with a vision. Community mentors in his hometown of Deland, Fla., had asked him and a friend to speak occasionally with area youth, but Johnson envisioned something bigger. “Forget just speaking,” said Johnson. “I thought, just go back and start a whole organization.”

Colgate’s green efforts were the focus of a “spotlight” article by the Environmental News Network website. Lee Woodruff ’82 shares important information about traumatic brain injury (TBI) and her family’s experience with the issue in a cover story for Parade magazine. Woodruff’s article, “Can Brains Be Saved?,” appeared in the magazine on Sunday. Parade has a circulation of 33 million and appears in 475 newspapers nationwide.

Even though school is out for the summer, inquisitive high school ������Դ��s from upstate New York and New York City are keeping their minds sharp at a unique camp on Colgate’s campus. Colgate’s Science and Sports Camp was featured this week on the front page of the Observer-Dispatch (Utica).

Future Colgate hockey players Jeremy Price (Milton, Ont.) and Thomas Larkin (London, England) were both selected in the NHL Entry Draft this past weekend in Montreal. Price was selected 113th overall while Larkin was the 137th pick.
