Following annual tradition, the Max A. Shacknai Center for Volunteerism, Outreach, and Education (COVE) organized a 9/11 Afternoon of Service. On Friday, Sept. 6, more than 70 ÉÁµç×ÊÔ´Íø volunteers worked with eight nonprofits in Hamilton and neighboring towns to help local farms, promote environmental conservation, maintain trails, and preserve the Chenango Canal among other activities.

In May, Colgate community members traveled to Puerto Rico for a week devoted to hurricane relief. The group performed service work at Plenitud, a non-profit educational farm and learning center located in the mountains of western Puerto Rico near a town called Las Marias.

Last summer, Alia Davis ’18 returned to Santa Fe, N. M., to work on a video project she felt compelled to finish. Davis first visited New Mexico during the fall of 2015 with Colgate’s Santa Fe Off-Campus Study Group, led by Professor Sarah Wider. On March 30, Colgate ÉÁµç×ÊÔ´Íøs and faculty gathered in the Hall of Presidents to celebrate the more than 150 clubs and ÉÁµç×ÊÔ´Íø organizations found at the university.
