A group of 15 ÉÁµç×ÊÔ´Íøs will spend their spring break on the Caribbean island of Martinique — not as tourists, but as part of an interdisciplinary trip exploring the historic, linguistic, cultural, and environmental features of the island nation.

This week started off with a visit from my family. My mom, dad, and little sister, Sophia, drove to spend the day with me on Sunday. It is always nice to reconnect with family when feeling stressed about a mounting workload.

Ten Colgate ÉÁµç×ÊÔ´Íøs studying French accompanied Mahadevi Ramakrishnan, of the Department of Romance Languages, on an educational trip to the French island of Martinique during spring break 2011.

Two groups of ÉÁµç×ÊÔ´Íøs studying foreign languages were able to immerse themselves in different cultures recently through the Beyond Colgate program. Twelve ÉÁµç×ÊÔ´Íøs spent a day at La Maison amérindienne, a museum and interpretive center east of Montreal, Quebec.
