The Employer Relations team helps ÉÁµç×ÊÔ´Íøs explore career paths by developing long-standing relationships with alumni in a variety of professional fields. Jobs and internships brought in by the team are featured on Handshake and sent to ÉÁµç×ÊÔ´Íøs in Career Services weekly emails. This is one of the primary ways that ÉÁµç×ÊÔ´Íøs may benefit from the Colgate network.

Colgate Career Services celebrates ÉÁµç×ÊÔ´Íøs who have landed jobs, internships, or graduate school acceptances in a variety of industries and areas of study. Through a rigorous liberal arts education, a powerful alumni network, and committed academic and career support, ÉÁµç×ÊÔ´Íøs continue to excel throughout their undergraduate years and pursue successful careers after graduation.

Colgate parents Matthew Myers P’24, a criminal defense attorney, and Brenda Fischer P’24, former chief of the Cybercrime and Identity Theft Bureau of the New York County District Attorney’s Office, led a virtual discussion on March 18, 2021, to offer advice to ÉÁµç×ÊÔ´Íøs exploring legal careers. Made possible through the John A. Golden Fellowship, the webinar allowed ÉÁµç×ÊÔ´Íøs to acquire insight into both sides of the courtroom.

Programs offered throughout the month of February gave ÉÁµç×ÊÔ´Íøs opportunities to gain skills and insight from alumni that will help them achieve their goals as they explore career possibilities.

I eventually found the Cossayuna Lake Improvement Association, in upstate New York where my grandparents have a house on the water. I was very interested in the preservation and conservation efforts of the team at C.L.I.A. and I felt as though my experience gave me a clearer understanding of how environmental protection works.

This summer, I interned at the Aflac New York headquarters and rotated through the finance, sales, marketing, and human resources departments. I gained an introductory understanding of each of these departments to get a better idea of how my skills and interests align with a career.
